Abstract

The study presented in this paper is an attempt to develop a contemporary
model that identifies and categorizes tasks performed by people on smartphones. The
paper discusses a study in which activities performed on smartphones were collected,
categorized, and classified into tasks. The requirements for developments in applications
and services available on smartphones were highlighted as a result of the study.
Further research would survey more users and modify the model further. The model
created is useful for a particular environment under the current circumstances of phone
available technologies.
